We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly organised Ward Administrator to join 11 South Ward, our specialist unit for Infectious Diseases and Immunology and one of the UK's designated High Level Isolation Units (HLIU) at the Royal Free Hospital.
As the first point of contact for patients, visitors, and healthcare professionals, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring a welcoming and professional environment. This role combines strong administrative responsibilities with high levels of patient contact and service coordination in a fast-paced clinical setting
What You’ll Do:
• Provide a high-quality front-line reception and customer service to patients, carers, and staff.
• Accurately input and maintain patient demographic and treatment data using the Trust’s EPR system.
• Support the smooth flow of patients through the ward by coordinating admissions, transfers, and discharges.
• Liaise with the multidisciplinary team and wider hospital services to help ensure efficient bed utilisation and timely patient care.
• Maintain accurate records to ensure data quality, NHS compliance, and Trust income generation.
• Proactively manage your workload and contribute to the smooth day-to-day operation of a complex specialist ward.
What We’re Looking For:
• Experience in a healthcare, reception, or administrative role.
• Excellent interpersonal, organisational, and IT skills (including Microsoft Office).
• Confidence working independently in a busy ward environment.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high standards of service.
• A team player with a positive, proactive attitude and a passion for supporting patient care.
