If you arehardworking, friendly, professional and have patients at the centre of your working practice then this could be the job for you!  We are looking for an enthusiastic band 6 MRI radiographer to work within the fantastic MRI team at Lancashire Teaching Hospital Trust.


This dynamic job role will consist of working across 3 different sites, Royal Preston Hospital (RPH), Chorley District Hosptial (CDH) and a community diagnostic centre mobile scanner. The MRI department at RPH is a bright and spacious building which provides a suite of 4 scanners including a 3T Siemens Skyra scanner, 2 x 1.5T Philips Ingenia scanners and anEsaoteOscan 0.3T extremity scanner. The CDH department houses a new Ingenia Ambition helium free 1.5T scanner.


You will join a welcoming MRI team who have continuously worked hard to receive four GOLD star ratings in recent STAR (Safety triangulation accreditation review) visits.


In this post, you will perform a diverse range of MR examinations for both adult and paediatric patients in outpatient,inpatientand emergency department settings.You will interact with a number of multi-disciplinary teams, such as the theatre team for patients undergoing MRI under anaesthetic and the pacing team, for patients with a cardiac implantable electronic device undergoing MRI.


As an MRI radiographer, you will be a key part of the imaging team, ensuring that our service user's needs are met through the delivery of high-quality care.


Toassistin the provision of an efficient MRI service.


To work within the MRI team to deliver the best possible care to patients whilst producingoptimumquality diagnostic images.


To be an excellent team player and workalongsideothermulti-disciplinaryteams, communicating effectively to ensure service user satisfaction.


To have the ability to accept responsibility and make decisions.

To participate in departmental audits, research projects and quality improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery.


To adhere to the current MHRA guidelines along with local policies and practises to ensure the safety of patients,visitorsand staffat all timeswithin the MR department.


To provide guidance and support to junior members of staff & students.


To empathise and reassure patients who are worried,anxiousor reluctant to undergo the procedure by providing thoughtful andwell constructedresponses to their questions.

To participate in an on-call service.

Duties to include but not be limited to:
• Undertake radiographic duties across 3 sites within Lancashire Teaching Hospital Trust, ensuring high standardsof image quality and patient care at all times.

• Comply withthe current MHRA guidelines to ensure the safety of patients,visitorsand staffat all timeswithin the MR controlled area.

• Manage the workflow in the area you are working in including out-patients, in-patients, and patients from the emergency department.

• Report equipment failures and incidents according to Trustpolicy

• Participate in audits for the department ensuring excellent clinical governance in all aspects of patient care.

• Comply withTrust policies and procedures to ensure a safe effective environment and service for all.

• Ensureaccurateandtimelydocumentation in line with information governance good practice.

• Support and teach others within the department.
