Crynodeb
The opportunity has arisen for a qualified and experienced Trading Standards professional to provide specialist services, investigate consumer protection offences, support and advise colleagues, partners and senior managers within Trading Standards and businesses. You will be delivering a wide range of statutory and regulatory functions, including, Fair Trading, Primary Authority, Weights and Measures and Product Safety.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Officer with the ability to achieve targets and work in a team, who will play an integral role in the delivery of the Council’s response to issues. You will be expected to adopt a flexible and problem solving approach to work to deliver quick and sustainable resolutions to Trading Standards and Licensing issues across the city and support local communities. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing their own caseload as well as providing guidance and advice to colleagues and partners on wider initiatives.
Candidates will need to demonstrate that they have the knowledge to deal with highly complex and high risk issues across the range of Trading Standards functions, have an investigatory mind-set with the ability to think outside of the box, have significant relevant experience of case management processes and a commitment to working in partnerships with the ability to take the lead in a multi-agency environment.
The successful candidate must be qualified to enforce Weights and Measures legislation. It is desirable that the successful candidate is qualified to enforce Food Standards legislation.
