Job Title: School Librarian (DBS Required)
Location: Birmingham, West Midlands
Phase: Secondary
Salary: £24,027 - £24,404 per annum (Pro-rata: £20,666.45 - £20,990.73)
Hours: 37 hours per week
Contract: Permanent, Term Time + 1 Week
Closing Date: 27/05/2025
We are seeking a proactive and organised School Librarian to manage and develop our school library. This is a key role supporting both staff and students, promoting literacy, independent learning, and a love for reading across all year groups.
Main Responsibilities:
- Maintain and develop the library as a vibrant, welcoming learning environment
- Support students with research, reading choices, and use of library resources
- Manage the library system, including cataloguing, loans, and stock control
- Promote reading through displays, events, and reading initiatives
- Liaise with teaching staff to support curriculum needs
Key Requirements:
- Enhanced DBS - must be in place before starting
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- NVQ Level 1/Level 2 or equivalent qualification.
- Previous experience in a library or school environment is desirable
