Job Description:
We are currently seeking a reliable, hardworking, and proactive School Caretaker to join a friendly and supportive school environment through our agency. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the school premises are clean, safe, and well-maintained, helping create a positive space for learning.
Key Responsibilities:
• Opening and closing the school premises each day
• General maintenance and minor repairs around the school site
• Ensuring the site is clean, safe, and secure at all times
• Managing heating, lighting, and alarm systems
• Supporting with deliveries and furniture movement
• Monitoring site security and liaising with external contractors as required
• Conducting regular health & safety checks
Requirements:
• Previous caretaking, site management, or maintenance experience preferred
• Ability to work independently and use initiative
• Good understanding of health and safety practices
• A valid Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply for one via the agency)
• Excellent communication and time management skills
• Flexibility with hours when required (e.g., early start, occasional evenings)
