Memory Clinics Assess and diagnose patients attending the Memory Clinic Initiate and monitor treatment where appropriate Work closely with the nurses and research psychologists within the ReMind UK team Liaise with GPs, mental health teams and other agencies Assist with reviewing patient referrals Clinical Research Studies Assist with opportunistic patient and volunteer identification for clinical studies during memory clinic. EDUCATIONAL & PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Help to ensure that patients and carers are as fully informed as possible about their illnesses and benefits to which they are entitled. Visitors to the unit: Explain the work of the Institute to visitors, including other health professionals and members of the public Health professionals: Be prepared to assist with professional educational meetings, the teaching of medical students and other occasional visitors to the Memory Clinic Outside organisations: Be prepared to represent the Institute at external functions and describing the work of the Institute Training of new staff: Be willing to share skills and contribute to the training and supervision of all new medical, nursing and psychology staff Personal development Take responsibility for personal development and education Maintain up-to-date clinical skills in resuscitation and related activities Maintain standards of Good Medical Practice Undertake annual appraisal and work towards five yearly statutory revalidation OTHER RESPONSIBILITES Write clinical reports and assist with others when necessary The post holder is required to familiarise themselves with all ReMind UK policies and procedures and to comply with these at all times. Be familiar with and work to all the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and assist in ensuring that they are kept up to date Abide by legal rules and statutory regulations relating to practice , including Mental Health Legislation All staff must have eligibility to work in the United Kingdom. All staff are required to undergo DBS checks. All employees are required to carry out other such duties as may reasonably required for the smooth running of the Institute
