A dedicated Special Educational Needs (SEN) school in Southwark is seeking a skilled and reliable Specialist SEN Unit Assistant to join their team. This role is based within a specialist unit that caters for students with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), and complex medical conditions.
You will be working closely with class teachers and other support staff in a small, focused unit that provides high levels of care and individualised support. Your responsibilities will include:

Supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis

Assisting with the implementation of individual education and care plans
Assisting with the implementation of individual education and care plans

Providing personal care and medical support (where required)

Facilitating sensory-based and therapeutic activities

Using strategies such as Makaton, PECS, and visual timetables (training can be provided)

Promoting emotional wellbeing and social development
