An IT Support Technician Apprentice vacancy has arisen on the evening shift at our Holly Road site in Skegness, Lincolnshire. This
is a fantastic opportunity to join our IT team.



Location: Micronclean, Manorcrest House, Holly Road, Skegness,

Job Title: IT Support Technician Apprentice

Job Type: Full-Time

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday – 06:00 – 14:30 (one-hour unpaid lunch)

Pay: £25,000 per annum



Job Purpose:



Join our nine-person IT team as an IT Support Technician Apprentice. As part of your apprenticeship*, you will support the IT
team, assisting with the availability, security, and performance of our IT systems. This role provides hands-on experience in
technical support, infrastructure maintenance, and service improvements, helping to build a strong foundation in IT.



*You must meet or exceed the entry requirements for the apprenticeship and be able to undertake the course when it commences.

Job Role:



The role’s key responsibilities will include:



* Provide first-line technical support to users, diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and network issues.
* Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of IT systems, including desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile
devices.
* Help manage user accounts, permissions, and IT security settings across company systems.
* Respond to service requests and IT support tickets, escalating complex issues when necessary.
* Learn and apply cyber security and data governance best practices to help protect company data and infrastructure.
* Participate in IT projects, including system upgrades, migrations, and rollouts.
* Maintain a professional and customer-focused approach when assisting colleagues with technical queries.
* Participate in scheduled out-of-hours projects and maintenance, as well as respond to out-of-hours IT emergency calls.
* The role involves working with sensitive data, requiring strict adherence to confidentiality and security protocols
* Support IT teams in maintaining system documentation, inventories, and asset management.



Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications required:



Essential




* Ability to achieve relevant technical certifications (e.g. CompTIA, Microsoft).
* Basic understanding of computer hardware, operating systems (e.g. Windows, Android), and software applications.
* Good problem-solving and analytical skills with ability to diagnose technical issues.
* Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical users.
* Good organisational and time management skills.
* Strong attention to detail, with an eagerness to learn and improve technical knowledge.
* Ability to follow instructions and work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
* Full UK driver’s license.
* Academic pre-requisites (or equivalent education/work experience in related field) required to undertake apprenticeship.
* Awareness of networking concepts, including Wi-Fi, IP addresses, and troubleshooting connectivity issues.



Desirable




* Working towards or completed a relevant IT-related qualification (e.g., Level 3 IT Support Technician, CompTIA IT Fundamentals,
or equivalent).
* Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles and data protection best practices.
