Your new company
You'll be joining a growing biotech company, centred in London, using advanced proteomics and machine learning approaches to transform diagnostics for cardiac and rare diseases to support the development of new therapies and optimising clinical trials.The team is expanding and you'll have a number of opportunities to progress and develop your career.

Your new role
In this position, you'll take a hands-on leadership role in advancing cardiac diagnostics through proteomics.
Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the development and execution of a cardiac biomarker programme
  • Overseeing the clinical validation of LC-MS/MS assays in line with regulatory standards
  • Designing experiments and interpreting complex proteomic data to further develop the company's products
  • Design and validate new assays
  • Coordinating biomarker research activities
  • Project management, including setting timelines and milestones, as well as dealing with external stakeholders
  • Create and optimise SOPs and lab protocols



What you'll need to succeed

  • A PhD (or equivalent experience) in biochemistry, biology or a closely related subject, preferably with a strong mass spec component
  • Demonstrated proficiency in operating and developing methods for mass spectrometry, with at least three years of hands-on experience preferably within the biotech, diagnostics or pharma industry though strong academic experience, eg post-doc work will also be considered
  • A solid understanding of proteomic mass spec, as well as experience within LCMS-MS and/or triple quad spectrometers
  • A track record of independently managing and delivering research projects
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to produce clear scientific reports and present findings effectively
  • A collaborative mindset, capable of working across multidisciplinary teams and engaging with external partners


The following would be useful but are not essential for this role:

  • Familiarity with cardiac biology, particularly in the context of heart failure or cardiomyopathy
  • Experience working with clinical samples and understanding of regulatory compliance frameworks, eg for clinical trials
