Contract term – Permanent
Salary – Main Pay Scale + SEN Allowance
The Hythe School is currently seeking an experienced and enthusiastic SEND class teacher (KS2) to join their oversubscribed and highly popular specialist Harbour Centre. This is an exceptional opportunity for candidates who are passionate about supporting children with special needs to achieve their full potential.
As part of the Centre’s expansion plans, a new purpose-built learning environment is being created to cater to the specific needs of the Harbour Centre. The new Centre building will include classrooms, a meeting space, sensory rooms, specialist group teaching rooms and more.
The successful candidates will be responsible for teaching a small class of children with a range of learning, communication and interaction needs. The school is specifically seeking individuals who are knowledgeable and experienced in working with children with Autism/ASD. They should also possess excellent teaching skills, a positive mindset, and be able to work collaboratively as part of a dedicated team. As well as teaching in the Centre, successful candidates will support pupil inclusion into mainstream classes for foundation subjects, working alongside mainstream staff as well as their Centre colleagues.
In return, the school can offer:
● a warm, welcoming environment where pupils are at the heart of everything we do
● a well-resourced Centre with outside learning areas
● a highly skilled, friendly, supportive and committed team
● continuing professional development
● a strong team ethos that prioritises staff wellbeing.
Interested candidates can visit the school website to download an application form and information pack or email recruitment@hythe.surrey.sch.uk. Early application is recommended as they are reviewed on receipt and interviews will be held as required.
Only short-listed candidates will be contacted for interviews (please ensure that a current telephone number is included with your application).
The Hythe Community Primary School are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The appointment will be subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure and the successful applicant will be registered, as required, with the relevant body.
