As Bournemouth's specialist respiratory ward, we care for anyone from younger patients requiring acute illness management, to looking after people with long term conditions such as COPD and providing person centred care insomeone’slast days of life. Weprovide exciting opportunitiesfor health care assistantsto be trained in a range of extended skills, including some that are unique to Ward 2 such as caring for patients requiring Non-Invasive Ventilation.
The ideal recruit would have patient safety and team-working at the forefront of their minds. We believe that working together ensures the best outcomes for our patients, and pride ourselves in maintaining a friendly, fun workforce. We expect healthcare support workers to work closely with the nursing staff, by providing patients with day to day care, and always promoting their independence. You would also spend time completing observations and escalating patient’s conditions appropriately and documenting any findings.
Although previous NHS experience is an advantage, it is not essential as training will be provided! All we need from you is a compassionate and outgoing personality and a willingness to learn.
It is a condition of employment that all staff being recruited in the period before, during and post-merger will work across all sites pre and post-merger.

Please note if the role or service is relocated as part of a planned move, employees will not be eligible for excess mileage reimbursement. Travel from the postholder's home to the new work base will be considered a normal commute. Any other changes not related to this relocation will be managed according to the relevant Trust or National terms and conditions.
