Part-Time Administration AssistantBirkett House School has a vacancy for a Part Time Administration Assistant
Birkett House is a very popular and successful multi-sited and all age special school for pupils with learning difficulties in South Leicestershire. The main school site is in Wigston, and we also have inclusion units at Thistly Meadow Primary School (Blaby), Little Hill Primary School (Wigston), Thomas Estley Community College (Broughton Astley) and a purpose-built Senior Department based in Countesthorpe.
Job Information:
We are currently looking for a part-time Administration Assistant to support our HR and payroll systems to start at the beginning of the Autumn Term (21/08/25).
The successful candidate will need to be familiar, accurate and confident with databases as you will be inputting data. You should have existing admin-based skills and the ability to work on your own initiative to ensure school administrative needs are met. As part of the wider office team, you will support your colleagues and be customer facing at times, dealing with parents and visitors in house and on telephones. You will work two days a week, 9.00am to 4.30pm, Thursday and Fridays and be based at the Wigston site.
You will need to have:
• excellent literacy and numeracy skills (Level 2 qualifications in Maths / English is essential)
• experience of ICT and school systems such as Word, Excel, SIMS
• excellent accuracy, attention to detail and the ability to multitask,
• good organisational, communication and interpersonal skills; and
• the ability to work on your own initiative and effectively as part of a team.
