Job Title: Charity Administrator
Location: Leicester
Hours: Full-Time, 37.5hrs/week

Job Summary
We are seeking a dependable, organised, and proactive Administrator to support the daily administrative operations of our Leicester-based charitable organisation. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the effective coordination of administration, compliance, stakeholder communications, and events. This role requires someone with strong multitasking abilities, administrative and operations experience, and a genuine passion for community service in a faith-led environment.
We are a faith-based organisation with strong involvement in community focused projects such as food bank, daycare, day centre, support for the youth and elderly. The individual would also be required to attend all Trustees/Directors meeting while you be working with various steering groups.
Key Responsibilities
1. General Administration
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of the charity’s activities, members, and beneficiaries.
• Respond to emails, letters, phone calls, and general enquiries professionally and promptly.
• Schedule and coordinate meetings, prepare agendas, take minutes, and ensure follow-up on agreed actions.
• Maintain efficient filing systems (digital and paper) in line with data protection legislation.
2. Financial Administration
• Assist in recording and managing donations, grants, and other financial documentation in collaboration with the Treasurer.
• Support in gathering documents/records for the preparation of financial reports for trustees, the Charity Commission, and other stakeholders.
• Handle petty cash, expense claims, and invoice processing with attention to transparency and detail.
3. Compliance & Governance
• Ensure the organisation is compliant with Charity Commission regulations and UK charity law.
• Assist with preparing and implementing safeguarding records, risk assessments, annual reports, and internal documentation.
• Keep policies and procedures up to date and support timely reviews.
4. Communications & Stakeholder Engagement
• Act as the first point of contact for the day centre’s enquiries.
• Communicate effectively with service users, volunteers, donors, and church members.
• Support the preparation of newsletters, flyers, and light social media content when needed.
5. Volunteer & Event Coordination
• Support the planning and delivery of outreach and fundraising events.
• Maintain records of volunteers and help coordinate induction and support processes.
6. Project Management
• Oversea all projects that are being executed by the charity from project initiation to completion
• Ensure all stakeholders are fully informed of project timelines
• Be a think thank for all projects and work collaboratively with the senior management team.
Person Specification
Essential Criteria
Category Requirement
Education & Qualifications - Minimum of a Degree or equivalent with relevant experience is required.
- GCSEs in English and Maths or equivalent.
- Further administrative training or qualifications (e.g. Business Admin, NVQ) desirable or willingness to study.
Experience - Proven experience in an administrative role (charity or faith-based environment preferred).
- Experience using office systems and managing correspondence.
- Experience in supporting compliance and documentation.
Skills & Abilities - Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong organisational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to work independently and collaboratively.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
Training - Must hold valid Safeguarding Training certification (or be willing to update this before starting).
Personal Qualities - Committed Christian, ideally familiar with RCCG values and ethos.
- Integrity, accountability, and a heart for service.
- Respectful of confidentiality, diversity, and safeguarding requirements.
- Flexible, teachable, and solutions-oriented.
Other - Must have the right to work in the UK.
- Willing to work occasional evenings/weekends as needed.
Desirable Criteria
• Knowledge of Charity Commission processes and regulatory requirements.
• Experience with volunteer or event coordination.
• First Aid or additional safeguarding qualifications.
