What skills and experience we're looking for
Experience of working with or caring for children of relevant age
First Aid Training (desirable)
Willingness to participate in development and training opportunities
Basic Health and Safety Awareness
Knowledge of, and commitment to equal opportunities
Experience of administering first aid
Ability to relate well to children and adults
Ability to work constructively as part of a team, understanding school roles and responsibilities and your own position within these
Good verbal communication skills in order to liaise with pupils and other staff members
Ability to react in a positive manner to difficult situations which may arise amongst children
Ability to identify own training and development needs and co-operate with means to address these
Ability to encourage the children in constructive and co-operative play
Ability to encourage the children in constructive and co-operative play
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Ability to maintain confidences regarding children and colleagues
Commitment to work in line with the school ethos and mission
Willingness to undertake training and continuous professional development in connected with the post
Compliance with policies relating to Health and Safety, Equality and Diversity and data protection
Satisfactory enhanced DBS disclosure to work in an environment dealing with young people
Ability to form and maintain appropriate relationships and personal boundaries with children and young people
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting welfare for all
