As a health care support worker, you will be expected to work with service users, their carers and members of the multi- disciplinary team, to provide care to those with complex mental health and physical health care needs. The successful candidate will be positive and enthusiastic in their approach, with a calm and confident manner when dealing with the needs of the service users. You will have excellent communication skills, and will demonstrate that you have the ability to form and maintain therapeutic relationships with service users and their carers You will be able to demonstrate a genuine interest in, and be committed to, involving service users in all aspects of their care. The role requires the successful candidate to support and promote the individual assessment, care and therapeutic interventions for each service user as part of their rehabilitationWe are looking for individuals who: Have ideally some previous experience of working in a health care setting. An understanding of how physical and mental ill health can impact a persons ability to function and engage in all aspects of life Have excellent communication skills and understand how to build rapport and establish positive therapeutic relationships with service users and their carers. Contribute to the planning and delivery of care for service users in a multidisciplinary rehabilitation setting Be positive and enthusiastic in your approach, alongside adopting a calm and confident manner when dealing with the needs of the service users and their carers. Act as a positive role model showing a professional and caring attitude towards service users, carers and members of the multidisciplinary team. Have a genuine interest in, and be committed to, involving service users in all aspects of their care and treatment Support, promote and assist in the individual assessment, care and interventions for each service user. Assist in the facilitation of a wide range of therapeutic groups available at NICPM to service users. Be able to develop and explore creative ideas that support service users in their rehabilitation and recovery. Maintain and contribute to a safe and therapeutic working environment.
