Description
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Food Safety Officer (L4Z1) to join our team and ensure the highest standards of food safety and hygiene are maintained across our operations. As a Food Safety Officer, you will be at the forefront of safeguarding public health by implementing and monitoring food safety protocols in compliance with local and national regulations. Your role will involve conducting thorough inspections and assessments of food production processes, equipment, and facilities to identify potential hazards and areas for improvement. You will be responsible for educating staff on food safety practices, ensuring that all employees understand their role in maintaining a clean and safe working environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills to evaluate data and make informed decisions that promote food safety initiatives. You will also collaborate with various stakeholders, such as production teams, management, and external regulatory bodies, to foster a culture of safety and compliance. Responsibilities
Conduct regular inspections of food production facilities to ensure compliance with food safety standards.
Develop and implement food safety training programs for staff and management.
Review and update food safety policies and procedures as needed according to regulatory changes.
Conduct risk assessments to identify potential food safety hazards and recommend corrective actions.
Monitor and analyze food quality and safety data to report on trends and areas for improvement.
Collaborate with production teams to address food safety compliance issues and implement best practices.
Maintain accurate records of inspections, training sessions, and compliance efforts for audit purposes.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Nutrition, or a related field.
Proven experience in food safety, hygiene, or quality control in a food production environment.
Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and standards (e.g., HACCP, FDA, local health codes).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively educate and interact with staff.
Analytical mindset with the ability to assess risk and implement effective solutions.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Certification in food safety management or a related professional certification is preferred.
Hours Per Week: 36.00
Start Time: 09:00
End Time: 17:30
Pay Per Hour: £31.78
