Your new company
Our client is a dynamic public sector organisation based in Central London who are committed to ensuring the highest standards of health and safety across their housing division. They are looking for a Health & Safety and Fire Officer to join their expanding Housing, Health and Safety team. This job will initially be on a 6-month fixed-term contract, leading to a permanent role once the team's restructure is in place. Hybrid flexible working is also on offer, 2/3 days in the office per week.
Your new role
Develop, implement, and monitor health and safety policies and procedures.Conduct risk assessments and audits to ensure compliance with regulations.
Provide training and guidance to staff on health and safety best practices.
Investigate incidents and accidents, recommending corrective actions.
Collaborate with internal teams and external agencies to uphold safety standards.
Stay updated on legislation and industry best practices.
Manage FRA reports and provide advice on Fire Safety issues.
What you'll need to succeed
Relevant qualifications in Health and Safety (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH).Experience in a similar role within the public sector or related field.
Strong knowledge of UK health and safety regulations.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
A Fire Safety qualification will be desirable.
