An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the AoC Sport Board as a Board Member. AoC Sport is the membership organisation for
college sport and physical activity, operating as a wholly owned subsidiary of the Association of Colleges (AoC). Our vision is
for every college student to be active and enjoy the benefits that sport and physical activity bring. We represent and support
member colleges across the country, and work to influence the wider sport, education and policy landscape.
We are now seeking a new Board Member to join us in this important non-executive role, helping to shape the future of sport and
physical activity in further education. The Board plays a critical role in setting the strategic direction for AoC Sport and
ensuring that the organisation operates with strong governance, sound financial oversight, and a clear commitment to its mission
and values.
As a Board Member, you will contribute to the strategic development of AoC Sport, monitor delivery against our Strategic
Framework, and ensure that robust systems, management practices and governance structures are in place. You will also act as an
ambassador for AoC Sport, supporting our work with members and external stakeholders to promote the value of sport and physical
activity in colleges.
We are particularly keen to hear from individuals who bring experience in governance, finance, sport, education, or public policy.
A commitment to impartiality, strategic thinking, and acting in the best interests of AoC Sport and its members is essential.
Prior non-executive or trustee experience is welcome but not required.
This is a voluntary role with reasonable expenses covered. The Board meets around four times per year, with meetings held in
person or virtually. In return, you will have the opportunity to influence a national organisation, work alongside passionate and
experienced colleagues, and help ensure that every college student can access the life-changing benefits of sport and physical
activity.
