About the Role

Nottingham City Council is looking for a meticulous Information and Monitoring Officer to support its planning and environmental efforts. The successful candidate will manage and monitor Section 106 (S106), Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG), and Building Safety Levy (BSL) agreements. This role is crucial in ensuring that financial contributions and biodiversity objectives from development projects align with local planning policies, national regulations, and the council’s sustainability goals. Responsibilities include maintaining databases, monitoring compliance, conducting site visits, and engaging with various stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of agreements.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A proactive and organized approach to work, with strong time management skills with the ability to manage others to deliver on time.
  • Evidence of working successfully in partnership across different sectors, building and maintaining good working relationships.
  • Knowledge of Section 106 agreements, their purpose, and mechanisms within the UK planning system.
  • Strong data management and analytical skills, with experience in using databases, Excel, or specialized software for tracking and reporting.
  • Ability to interpret legal and technical documents related to planning and environmental policy.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in data management.
  • A degree in a relevant field such as: Urban Planning, Environmental Management, Geography, Finance, Data Analytics, Law or another closely related discipline.
