Summary

Cadent Gas Ltd

Shape the environments that power innovation and resilience

As our IT/OT Environment Manager, you’ll take the lead in ensuring the stability, security, and performance of our non-production environments – the critical foundation for testing, development, and transformation across Cadent. This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll manage the full lifecycle of IT/OT environments, from configuration and compliance to upgrades and optimisation.

This role will initially be based at our Ansty site for 3–4 days per week during the first few months, supporting a temporary test bed. Once this is decommissioned, you’ll transition to our Leicester site for 2–3 days per week while a new facility is built. Following commissioning, the role will move to a hybrid working model.

You’ll work across IT, engineering, and business teams to align environment strategy with project demand, ensuring environments are available, secure, and fit for purpose. You’ll also oversee the performance of service providers, manage SCADA and OT test labs, and lead a team of specialists to deliver exceptional service and continuous improvement.

This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a visible and technically rich role, where you’ll influence how we manage risk, support innovation, and deliver value across our digital and operational platforms.

Why you’ll love this role:

This is a high-impact role that blends technical leadership, service excellence, and strategic influence.

- End-to-End Accountability – Own the availability, reliability, and security of all non-production environments.
- Technical Leadership – Lead environment configuration, testing, patching, and lifecycle management across IT/OT systems.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration – Work with engineering, IT, and project teams to align environment delivery with business needs.
- Service Excellence – Drive performance from service providers and internal teams, ensuring SLAs and compliance are met.
- Innovation & Efficiency – Identify opportunities for cost savings, automation, and improved environment utilisation.

What you’ll bring:

You’re a technically capable and people-focused leader with a background in IT environment management and a passion for operational excellence.

- Technical Expertise – An understanding of IT infrastructure, SCADA systems, OT environments, and cloud-based solutions (e.g., AWS).
- Environment Management Experience – Proven track record managing complex IT/OT environments, including testing, patching, and configuration.
- Leadership & Collaboration – Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and working with senior stakeholders, vendors, and project teams.
- Process & Compliance Focus – Skilled in documentation, audit readiness, and maintaining robust security and access controls.
- Qualifications & Frameworks – Degree in computing or equivalent experience, ITIL Foundation, and familiarity with Agile, Prince2, and engineering delivery.

Looking to lead the environments that support mission-critical systems and digital transformation? Join us as an IT/OT Environment Manager and help shape the future of our technology landscape.

Please note that this position will close on Sunday 25th May.
