Environmental Care Co-Ordinator
We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated candidates who has the relevant skills to become an integral member of the team. This is an exciting and challenging opportunity to work as part of a dynamic team in a busy in-patient setting.
Beech Ward provides 24-hour care for female patients experiencing acute mental health problems.
You will provide a comprehensive role to Beech Ward at Sherwood Oaks Hospital, to ensure that the internal appearance and maintenance of the unit is to a high standard, including accommodation, cleanliness, overall site environment, estates maintenance and new works issues, linking with facilities (domestic, catering and porting staff), capital projects and health & safety assessments.
You will contribute to the NHS audits (MICE, Infection Control, Legionella) within the care environment.
We are looking for a highly motivated and organised individual to be responsible for the environment of Beech Ward at Sherwood Oaks.
The role is to ensure the environments are clean, tidy, safe and comfortable and maintained to appropriate standards.
You will be expected to assess the care settings you are responsible for and develop relevant processes to maintain these areas. Experience of auditing will be beneficial.
You will be responsible for the ordering of supplies to ensure the smooth running of the ward.
Applicants must to be able to communicate with the wider professional community and network with relevant departments and agencies to support the role. A good knowledge of IT and previous experience in healthcare settings is essential. You will work as part of a team and need to demonstrate positive teamwork values.

The main duties/responsibilities of the role are
• Responsible for maintaining excellent communication links between other teams in the trust, ensuring that projects and site works are undertaken.
• As a member of the multi-disciplinary team maintain the care environment to standards required under Health and Safety at Work Act and the Health care Commission Standards.
• You will work with the Administration Team Leader to ensure the site management and health and safety aspects of this role are covered.
• You will be responsible for ensuring that accurate work is completed within the time limits, framework and standards set.
Act on own initiative in the absence of the line manager and without direct supervision.
• Manages and prioritises own workload.
• To work as part of a local administrative team.
• Provide cover in the absence of colleagues and where service demands, this may include cover at other sites.
• To work within the provisions of the Trust Health and Safety Policy
Please note that this post may not meet the pay and skill level required for a Skilled worker visa.Successful applicants with no prior NHS experience would normally be placed at the bottom of the band in line with Agenda for Change. This salary is below the minimum salary required for sponsorship for a Skilled Worker / Health & Care visa and also does not appear on the shortage occupation list for healthcare and education. In these circumstances the Trust would not, therefore, be able to sponsor for a Skilled Worker / Health & Care visa.

Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check.Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. The cost of the DBS application is £26.40 (standard) or £54.40 (enhanced), this cost will be deducted from your salary over the first 2 months of employment.
