Clinical Responsibilities/Patient contact Provide Low Intensity assessment and evidence based CBT interventions in line with NICE guidance including individual and group interventions and using on-line and digital platforms. Provide a service that is comprehensive and accessible to a broad range of patients who have common mental health problems and who are over 17 and a half years of age. To provide a service that is equitable and non-discriminatory in terms of age, gender, ethnicity and disability. Support other primary care workers in making appropriate referrals and in carrying out the mental health aspects of their own roles as required Make appropriate referrals to other service providers in the statutory and voluntary sectors and redirect patients to other sources of appropriate support within the local community as required. Develop knowledge of the locality and its services and facilities, particularly in relation to mental health issues. Provide a service that is flexible as far as possible in terms of clinic hours, enabling, where possible, at least one clinic per week to be run outside normal working hours. Liaise as appropriate with secondary care mental health services, social services and community organisations. Conduct risk assessments and initiate appropriate action where indicated including referrals to relevant secondary care services. Undertake appropriate clinical supervision on a regular basis in accordance with the relevant professional guidelines and policies. To work collaboratively with other primary care professionals to ensure the service is effective and joined up Administrative and information systems Maintain clinical records in accordance with clinical governance and service procedure, using system one or any other electronic database as stipulated and support PWP staff to do the same. Use data systems to monitor and manage Step 2 waiting lists. Responsibility for Planning and Organising and Strategic/Business Development Provide regular reports and analysis of the performance of Step 2 interventions and the PWP workforce in collaboration with the PWP Team Lead. To work with the PWP team lead in supporting best practice and service development Service Development/Project Management In liaison with the PWP Team Lead and the Locality Clinical Lead, to manage an aspect of the service. This might include one or more (depending on the availability of time) of: co-ordinating psycho-education material, keeping a central resource file of clinical resources for general use, acting as a key liaison with an identified group of professionals/organisations, for local voluntary organisations, or acting as a champion for a specific client group. Research and Audit In liaison with the PWP team Lead and the Clinical lead, to participate and contribute to audits of clinical activity, evaluation research as required. Staff Management, Training and Development, HR Provide clinical supervision to Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners in the locality team. Offer training to other Primary Care staff in low intensity interventions as required Support, teach and supervise PWP trainees Attend locally organised, mandatory and National training appropriate to the work role. Provide case management supervision and oversight for Trainee PWPs and qualified PWPs. Ensure that staff maintain appropriate clinical records in keeping with service operational policy. In liaison with the PWP Team Lead, ensure staff maintain performance and outcome data as per service operational policy. In liaison with the PWP Team Lead, ensure that staff participate in setting and review of objectives for their post on an annual basis. In liaison with the PWP Team Lead, ensure that staff participate in activities of continuing professional development (CPD) on an annual basis.
