Crynodeb

Zarafa Height Solutions Ltd is a national hire company operating in a niche market sector. Part of the Zarafa Group, we maintain, service and inspect a range of non-mechanical equipment used exclusively in the suspended access industry. We are looking for a Rental Assistant to join our team in Grantham.

As this role comprises daily heavy lifting via manual handling, physical fitness is intrinsic to this job role and offers of employment are conditional upon you satisfactorily completing a pre-employment health assessment with a practitioner appointed by the company. The purpose of this assessment is to ensure that you are physically capable of performing essential and regular duties of the role.

As well as being hands-on and able to accommodate the physical demands of the role, we require you to be forward-thinking and pro-active. When not fulfilling orders, you will be preparing the equipment to make sure that it is fit and ready for hire.

Whilst you will be based in our purpose-built warehouse facility in Grantham, this is not your average warehouse job. In our bespoke building, suited to the nature of our services, you will be preparing the equipment to exacting safety standards to fulfil orders, as well as building up stock of fast-moving items whilst ensuring the full compliance of the rental fleet in general. You will also be required to drive company vans, delivering equipment around the country to and from customer sites. A valid Full UK Driving Licence is essential. A forklift truck licence would be a distinct advantage however training for this, and anything else required to perform the role, safely and efficiently, will be given upon commencement.

We require excellent verbal and written communication and organisation skills. You must be able to demonstrate attention to detail and have an excellent attitude to the role, customers, company and colleagues alike, as well as being able to keep up with the pace of this physically demanding role.

Your Key Responsibilities:

• Inspect and maintain wire ropes, ensuring they meet safety standards and are free from defects.
• Check, test, and maintain power cables, identifying any signs of wear or damage.
• Conduct routine inspections, cleaning, and maintenance of cradles, and other suspended access equipment.
• Loading and unloading rental fleet equipment within the warehouse and on and off delivery vehicles, using both mechanical aids and on a manual handling basis.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and inventory.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, following company procedures at all times.
• Work closely with the workshop team to meet operational deadlines.
• Carry out nationwide deliveries where required.

Our Essential Requirements:
• Excellent communicator – verbally and written
• Self-motivated with a strong ability to work independently.
• Physically fit and capable of performing repetitive, labour-intensive tasks comfortably for a sustained period of time.
• A keen eye for detail and a commitment to safety and quality.
• Ability to follow instructions and work methodically.
• Full, valid driver’s license.

It would also be advantageous, though not essential, if you have:
• Previous experience in equipment maintenance, warehouse operations, or mechanical inspection.
• Knowledge of wire rope and electrical cable inspections (training will be provided).
• Basic mechanical or electrical knowledge.
• Forklift license

You will receive fantastic benefits such as:
• On going personal development
• Programme of continuous education
• 32 days Annual Leave (inclusive of usual Bank Holidays)
• Competitive salary
• Contributory Pension Scheme with the opportunity to enhance
• Private Medical Insurance, including dental and optical benefit and a mental health pathway
• Employee Assistance Programme
• Company sick pay after 2 years service
