We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate 18+ Leaving Care Personal Advisor to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will provide vital support to young individuals transitioning from care into independent living. As a Personal Advisor, you will work closely with youth aged 18 and over, offering tailored advice and support in areas such as education, employment, housing, and health. You will build trusting relationships with the young people, ensuring they feel heard, valued, and supported in making their own choices. This position requires a deep understanding of the complexities surrounding the leaving care process and a commitment to fostering resilience and independence in our young clients. You will collaborate with various stakeholders, including local authorities, housing associations, and educational institutions, to facilitate access to resources and opportunities. Responsibilities
Provide tailored support and guidance to young people aged 18+ who are leaving care.
Assist young individuals in developing independent living skills, including budgeting, cooking, and time management.
Help clients access education, vocational training, and employment opportunities to promote self-sufficiency.
Facilitate housing arrangements and support young people in understanding their rights and responsibilities as tenants.
Work collaboratively with local authorities and other agencies to coordinate services and resources needed by young individuals.
Monitor and evaluate the progress of young people, adjusting support plans as necessary to meet their changing needs.
Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and safeguarding procedures in all aspects of work with young clients.
Requirements
A relevant qualification in social work, youth work, or a related field is preferred.
Experience working with young people, particularly those transitioning from care, is highly desirable.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build trust with young clients and stakeholders.
Understanding of the challenges faced by young people leaving care and knowledge of available resources.
Ability to work independently and manage a caseload effectively.
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
Commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion in all areas of work.
Hours Per Week: 37.00
Start Time: 08:00
End Time: 16:00
