Vacancy 2: 0.6 FTE (22.2 hours per week) maternity cover position, fixed-term for 12 months or until the return of the current post-holder, whichever is sooner.

These positions are perfect for individuals with experience in clinical practice or university settings who are passionate about teaching and supporting students in their academic and professional development.

You’ll be joining the team at a pivotal time of growth. Following good recruitment for our MSc Physiotherapy (Pre-Registration) course, we are set to launch our brand-new BSc Physiotherapy and BSc Physiotherapy Apprenticeship courses in September 2025.

What You’ll Do:

Deliver high-quality teaching on our physiotherapy programmes.
Support students’ development through teaching, personal academic tutoring, dissertation supervision, and module leadership.
Participate in admissions, placement visits, recruitment interviews, and open days.
Collaborate with colleagues across the faculty and contribute to an inclusive learning environment.
Why Join Us?

Be part of a supportive and expanding academic team.
Contribute to the development of innovative teaching practices, informed by contemporary research.
Engage with a diverse student body in a modern campus environment.
Opportunity to work in a post that fosters inter-professional collaboration, service user engagement, and simulation-based learning.
At the University of Northampton, we prioritise active blended learning to engage students and develop critical problem-solving skills, equipping them for success in their future practice.

Interested?

Please indicate in your application which post(s) you would like to be considered for. If you are seeking fewer hours than those advertised, please include that detail as well.

Whilst remote working is available for this post the number of days per week will vary during each semester depending on the requirements of the post, this will be discussed in more detail at interview.

This post is subject to a background disclosure check by the Disclosure and Barring Service before any appointment can be confirmed.

About you

We are looking for a candidate with a genuine passion for teaching and supporting the development of student physiotherapists.

Your commitment to high standards, combined with a transparent and open approach to your work, will reflect your suitability for this post.

You must be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and have experience working in UK healthcare settings. While a master's degree is desirable, it is not essential for this position.

Your clinical experience will enable you to enrich the student experience within a UK-based physiotherapy curriculum, ensuring that learners are well-prepared for their future careers.

Substantial organisational and prioritisation skills are essential to manage tasks across multiple work streams and meet deadlines. Additionally, effective communication skills are crucial for collaborating with a variety of professional teams.
