Contract Length: Anticipated 3 months
Location: Hybrid working – 3 days per week in Bristol or London – with flexibility
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Planning Lead to lead the planning of delivering a corporate transformation programme. You will have primary responsibility for developing and maintaining the overarching portfolio plans and ensuring that the portfolio has a coherent and achievable plan to deliver. Your role will provide clarity on key milestones to define what, when and how activities will be organised.
You will lead on all aspects of project planning, which will include the development, updating and monitoring of plans and schedules. You will identify tasks, activities, interdependencies and outputs for the portfolio and work with the programme teams to track and monitor progress against the plan throughout the life of the project.
The post holder must have extensive experience of leading planning activities in a shared service and ERP/Oracle transformation.
Key Accountabilities:
Provide strong leadership to the planning team, working with programme managers to achieve business case benefits and outcomes.
Set a clear vision and promote best practice in project planning, tools, and processes; build effective internal and external relationships.
Use advanced planning expertise to identify and resolve risks and issues, and to uncover opportunities.
Anticipate future planning resource needs and implement strategies to meet them.
Maintain external professional networks to stay current with best practices.
Analyse performance trends to identify improvement areas and apply the right tools and methods to address them.
Offer expert planning advice throughout programme delivery, especially during initiation. Introduce and lead adoption of best practice tools, processes, and templates. Build planning capability across the team.
Key criteria:
Experience of shared services, HR, Finance & Commercial functional transformation and/or Oracle/ERP transformations
A positive, proactive and resilient attitude needed to operate in a highly complex, fast moving and ambiguous environment
Deep expertise in Portfolio and Programme Management, particularly planning and scheduling, in a large-scale enterprise-wide transformation
A track record of delivering the highest quality results in time pressured and complex environments
Ability to quickly establish and develop productive relationships with diverse stakeholders, delivering through others and bringing together disparate programme structures into a coherent model
