This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated, well organised, dynamic and enthusiastic candidate to work within the urology team to support the FDS Nurses, Urology Consultants to manage the FDS urology patient for suspected cancer patients.

Working alongside the clinical teams ensuring that cancer referrals are tracked ensuring that patient’s information is correctly captured on our electronic patient records systems. The successful candidate would be working with a Multidisciplinary Teams managing the cancer pathways. You will be dealing with the cancer pathways as per national and local guidelines, giving instructions and reassurance in a sensitive manner.

This is a critical administration role in managing the cancer pathways and we are looking for someone with excellent customer care skills, enthusiasm, a flexible approach and a professional attitude. You will be expected to have good keyboard skills which are essential for this post and you should possess a current working knowledge of MS Word, Outlook and Excel.

You will be liaising with internal and external staff daily face to face and via the telephone. You should possess a friendly and approachable manner, be able to work calmly under pressure and demonstrate an awareness of confidentiality issues. You will need to have excellent people skills; excellent communication skills, enjoy working in a busy, challenging environment and have a positive approach to change.

To work alongside and support the Faster Diagnosis Standards (FDS) Nurse, Consultants to manage a full and comprehensive administrative service for urology

To effectively monitor and maintain relevant urology cancer pathways

To ensure the relevant information is entered promptly and accurately to the Electronic Patient Record (EPR) meeting the requirements of the Trust’s Patient Access Policy, always.

To liaise with patients and establish good working relationships with other clerical and clinical staff

Our patients are benefitting from ourWomen’s Health Hubin Ilford; anAgeing Well Centrein Hornchurch; and Community Diagnostic Centres (CDC) atBarking Community Hospitaland atSt George’s Health and Wellbeing Hubin Hornchurch.

These CDCs are open 12 hours a day, 7 days a week and are providing an extra 88,000 scans a year.
