As an IT Dispatch Engineer, you will specialise in the preparation, packaging and dispatch of all IT equipment including, laptops, iOS devices, printers and peripherals. You will also be responsible for fulfilling Service Requests (e.g. additional / replacement devices and peripherals.)
You will oversee the delivery of incoming items and will need to monitor and control stock levels whilst keeping the IT Systems up to date to maintain an accurate account of stock levels.
You will be part of the wider User Services support team and collaboratively work with the DVSA Service Desk. In addition to your technical skills, you will have opportunities to build positive relationships with end users, demonstrating effective communication skills, and deliver consistently high levels of user satisfaction and adherence to agreed Service Level targets and KPI’s.
When supporting you will specialise in second line troubleshooting technical issues for end users, be they hardware or software related. You will also be responsible for fulfilling Service Requests (e.g. hardware installs; moves and changes). You will investigate and resolve issues for users where this can be achieved remotely, without the need for site visit.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to;
- Liaising with end users and booking couriers.
- Accurately updating IT systems for incoming and outgoing goods to maintain accurate, up to date stock inventory and hardware asset management.
- Disposal of IT equipment in accordance with Waste Electric and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Regulations 2013.
- Provision of sim card (physical & E-sim) to end user devices.
- Providing advice, guidance and assistance on all IT devices set up and operation.
- Contact end users via the available channels and can explain technical information to users in non-technical terms.
