Junior IT Support Consultant who is tech-savvy, detailed oriented, has great people skills and looking to kick start their career in IT and project delivery is required for a well-established consultancy based in Bristol, South West England.

This position is officially known within the organisation as a Site Transition Technician


ALL LEVELS OF EXPERIENCE CONSIDERED – FULL TRAINING PROVIDED

If you have an IT certification then great. Or you may be a recent IT Graduate looking for your first role in tech. Or you may have worked as an IT Support Engineer and would like to transition to a job which could lead to roles in Project Management and Technical Consultancy. SALARY: £24,000 - £30,000 per annum (depending on experience) + Benefits

LOCATION: Bristol, South West England with travel to customer sites UK wide

JOB TYPE: 1 Year Fixed-Term Contract (Start date: September 2025)

WORKING HOURS: 37.5 Hours per Week, Monday to Friday

JOB OVERVIEW

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Junior IT Support Consultant / Site Transition Technician who is tech-savvy, detailed oriented, has great people skills and looking to kick start their career in IT and project delivery.

The company specialise in helping organisations maximise their investments in Microsoft 365, Azure and Teams voice management. They provide expert consultancy, 24/7 support, and automation-driven administration and configuration services to streamline communication, enhance collaboration and boost productivity for their clients.

Working as the Junior IT Support Consultant / Site Transition Technician you will visit client sites UK wide to assess the IT readiness for any new hardware / software deployment that the company will be rolling out.

You will also participate in key project phases including discovery, testing, go-live and early life technical support.

As the Junior IT Support Consultant / Site Transition Technician you will need excellent documentation skills, be extremely detailed orientated with strong written and verbal communication skills.


DUTIES

Once trained your duties as the Junior IT Support Consultant / Site Transition Technician include:

• Conduct UK-Wide On-Site IT Readiness Assessments: Evaluate existing IT infrastructure at various customer locations across the UK, assessing network capabilities, hardware, software, and overall readiness for new system deployments

• Document Existing IT Equipment and Infrastructure: Methodically gather and document detailed information on current IT equipment (servers, workstations, networking devices, peripherals, software configurations) to create an accurate technical baseline

• Maintain and Update Technical Documentation and Spreadsheets: Proactively update and manage critical technical documents, including network diagrams, hardware inventories, IP schemes, and configuration details, ensuring all IT asset and project progress data is current

• Collaborate with Technical Experts for Data Validation: Work with internal and external technical specialists (e.g., network engineers, system architects) to validate gathered data, troubleshoot issues, and ensure data accuracy before deployment

• Provide Hands-On Support for New Equipment & Software Deployment: Actively participate in the physical installation, configuration, and testing of new IT equipment and software, ensuring seamless integration and adherence to project standards

• Adhere to Structured Site Enablement Processes: Strictly follow established methodologies and protocols for site enablement, ensuring consistency, efficiency, and best practices across all project phases (e.g., using checklists, deployment guides)

• Actively Participate Across Key Project Phases: Be integral to all critical project stages: Discovery (requirements gathering), Testing (solution validation), Go-Live (system deployment and cutover), and Early Life Support (post-deployment assistance)


CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

• Strong IT literacy and confidence using PCs and tablets

• Excellent communication and documentation skills

• A proactive, team-oriented mindset

• Willingness to travel and work flexible hours when needed

• Full UK driving licence


DESIRABLE (but not essential)

• Awareness of Microsoft 365 and Teams

• Certifications in Technology or Business Management

• PRINCE2 Foundation or ITIL qualifications
