If you have experience of working with Deaf children and young people and have excellent IT and communication skills, then we have an exciting opportunity for you!
We are seeking to recruit a knowledgeable and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to our IPASS Sensory Support Service for Deaf Children. You will be required to work flexibly across mainstream settings, for children 0-25 as well as children in the IPASS Primary and Secondary Resource Bases.
A British Sign Language (BSL) level 2 qualification is desirable or willingness to train. A NVQ Level 4 or equivalent qualification is desired, along with skills and experience of working with young people working across the curriculum. It would be beneficial to have experience in a range of educational environments. This could be pre-school, primary, secondary, special or post-16.
You will have good understanding of IT based systems, including Microsoft Office. A friendly and professional manner is essential as you will be dealing with children and young people, parents, mainstream colleagues and external organisations.
