REGISTERED NURSE - OUTPATIENT AND PRE-ASSESSMENT
One Ashford Hospital, Kent has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse to join our friendly and dynamic team.
Reporting to the Outpatients Manager, the successful Registered Nurse will be required to provide the highest standard of individualised patient care as part of the clinical team across pre-assessment and wider outpatient services, including:
o Ensuring the comfort and safety of patients during their visit/admission to the hospital.
o Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and ensuring compliance in line with hospital policies, national guidelines and best practice standards.
o Working as an autonomous practitioner with specialist skills, assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating patient care within policies and protocols to facilitate safe surgical journey for the patient.
o Supporting the Pre-assessment Sister and the Outpatient Manager with implementation of service protocols on nationally accredited guidelines and valid research from recognised bodies
HOURS: Mon to Fri, shifts between 07:30 and 20:30. Occasional requirement to work Saturdays.
REGISTERED NURSE - OUTPATIENTS AND PRE-ASSESSMENT
QUALIFICATIONS
o Registered Nurse with NMC.
EXPERIENCE
o Clinical nursing experience in acute surgical care and preferably experience in pre assessment clinics.
o Proven ability to work independently and within a team.
SKILLS
o Demonstrable knowledge and skills and competency of required clinical practice.
o Phlebotomy, cannulation, ECGs, and intravenous antibiotics would be an advantage.
o Comprehensive written, numerical and verbal communication skills
o Experience in computer skills using MS Office Suite and web based reporting systems.
o Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of the business
o Excellent customer service skills.
o A sound understanding of safeguarding principles and policies, with the ability to act appropriately to protect vulnerable individuals.
DESIRABLES
o Enthusiasm for cross functional working within clinical departments as reasonably required.
o Experience in the private sector.
o Experience in pre-assessment clinics.
