Skills & Experience:
Degree in Building Surveying or a related field.
Good knowledge of CAD software
Good knowledge of technical building regulations and British Standards
Must have 5+ years experience
Experience in producing building specifications with NBS
Experience in administration of JCT contracts
Experience surveys/pre-purchase reports
Proven experience in building surveying, design consultancy, and project management.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
Strong analytical skills with a proactive approach to identifying and solving issues during the design and construction phases.
Desirable:
RICS qualification - preferred
Knowledge in party wall
What's involved with this role: As part of a small team of building surveyors, you will be responsible for delivering projects throughout all RIBA Stages. Working closely with clients to identify their needs and put together design proposals for a wide range of facilities including leisure centres, residential buildings, cemeteries, day centres, libraries, care homes, family hubs, historical monuments.
Key duties:
Lead the planning, design, and implementation of building projects, ensuring projects meet time, cost, and quality targets.
Conduct building surveys and inspections, providing detailed reports on condition assessments and making recommendations for repairs or improvements.
Collaborate with architects, contractors, and internal teams to deliver designs that comply with all relevant building codes and regulations.
Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring efficient use of resources and maintaining financial oversight throughout the lifecycle of each project.
Liaise with clients, contractors, and stakeholders, providing regular updates, managing expectations, and ensuring clear communication across all parties.
