Role Overview
As an Ambulance Care Attendant, you’ll work as part of a team providing non-emergency patient care and transport. This may involve picking up patients from home for hospital appointments or ensuring they return home safely after a hospital stay. You’ll play a key role in making each patient feel cared for and respected throughout their journey.

Key Responsibilities
Collect patients from their home address and assist them as needed.

Drive patients to or from hospital appointments or other medical facilities.

Transfer patients between hospitals or care centers.

Assist patients up and down stairs using appropriate equipment.

Carry out daily checks on the ambulance to ensure it is fully stocked and operational.

Complete necessary paperwork or use a PDA for digital documentation.

Maintain cleanliness of the vehicle in line with infection control procedures.

Administer first aid or support as needed during journeys.

Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care with dignity and respect.

Training and Qualifications
Full training is provided – no previous medical experience required.

Strong communication skills are essential.

Requirements
A full UK driving license held for at least three years, with no more than six penalty points.

Willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS check.

Physically capable of lifting and assisting patients (full manual handling training and equipment provided).

Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including early mornings, late evenings, nights, weekends, and bank holidays.
