End User Compute and Collaboration (EUC&C) are responsible for developing, delivering, and supporting end user and enterprise business solutions. The voice of the customer is critical to help inform our decisions on product development, service efficiency and benefits realisation to obtain return on investment and value for money.
The Collaboration Team within Enterprise Services supplies technology platforms by designing, delivering, and supporting new and improved IT services across the Home Office.
You will play a critical role in improving levels of digital literacy in the use of Microsoft 365 (M365) tools through a combination of a guidance site, instructor-led training, and a network of Digital Champions, and making modern, flexible collaboration tools available to all Home Office users.
You will be working within the Collaboration Engineering team in EUC&C, part of DDaT, to provide M365 services to over 65,000 users across the Home Office.
EUC&C are responsible for all core Home Office end-user services, including the provision and support of devices as well as development and support of applications and business critical services such as Exchange, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint Online, and OneDrive and helping the Home Office to continually improve our digital skills by championing the use of M365 tools.
We’re looking for people who are passionate about designing accessible services that are simple enough for everyone to use.
The ideal candidate will excel at taking content from content editors and applying user-centred design (UCD) principles to create modern SharePoint pages. A deep understanding of user research, UI design principles, and proficiency in design tools such as Adobe Suite, PowerPoint, and other relevant mediums is essential. This role is perfect for a designer who thrives at the intersection of storytelling, user experience, and impactful design.
Our Content Designers work in fast-paced, multidisciplinary teams to create clear, user-led content for digital services.
Your role is to ensure appropriate content is shown to users in the right place and in the best format. You’ll work closely with User Researchers and Digital Adoption colleagues to test ideas, challenge assumptions, and propose design solutions based on user needs.
You’ll be passionate about content and know how to:
- Make complex language and processes simple to understand.
- Make the case for user-led design.
- Explain your decisions clearly.
You’ll also be driven to help government transform the way it delivers services, so that they are simpler, faster and easier to use.
What you will do
Your main day to day responsibilities will include:
- Scoping, writing and editing content for complex internal services
- Create marketing materials/digital adoption products for Digital Adoption colleagues, Digital Champion Lead and Business Relationship Managers to utilise when promoting EUCC solutions
- Working as part of a multidisciplinary team to identify user needs and agree the right design approach
- Choosing the best format for delivering content to users
- Monitoring the performance of content and tools, identifying ways to improve the service
- Working with relevant stakeholders and subject matter experts to make sure content is relevant and accurate
- Helping other team members understand what content design is, why it’s important and how to work with Content Designers
