Introduction

The Property and Asset Strategy team plays a key role in maintaining and developing Parliament's iconic and historic estate. As part of the Strategic Estates function, the team leads the integrated property and asset management strategy for both the operational and non-operational portfolio. Through a dedicated group of professionals across various disciplines, including architecture, sustainability, engineering, and asset management, the team ensures that the Parliamentary Estate is safe, functional and forward-thinking-supporting the vital work of the UK Parliament.

The Role

We are looking for a proactive and experienced Property Portfolio Manager to join our Property and Asset Strategy team. In this varied and impactful role, you'll help manage a complex and high-profile estate, providing strategic advice and hands-on management across a mix of freehold and leasehold assets. You will act as an intelligent client for professional services and engage with key stakeholders on both operational and corporate real estate matters. The role offers a unique opportunity to work within a historic and high-value property environment at the heart of UK democracy.

Some of the responsibilities for this role include:

  • Managing a wide range of property matters including landlord and tenant issues, acquisitions, disposals, and service charge oversight.

  • Acting as intelligent client to external consultants supporting projects such as rent reviews and rates appeals.

  • Preparing and presenting business cases and formal written reports to stakeholders.

  • Supporting financial processes including budget forecasting, monitoring, and accruals.

  • Deputising for senior colleagues when required to maintain estate continuity.

Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:

  • Experience in professional estates management, including multi-let property and service charge management.

  • Ability to manage a varied caseload independently while contributing to a wider team.

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines and adapt to changing priorities.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for engaging stakeholders and presenting information.

  • A collaborative approach and commitment to upholding the values of equality, diversity and inclusion.
