ROLE OVERVIEW
This role is not just about technology—it’s about transforming lives. By improving digital systems, processes, and
skills across the Trust, you will directly contribute to creating schools where every child can thrive, no matter their
circumstances. Your work will have a lasting impact on students, families, and communities.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
MIS
The Digital and MIS Lead will support the Head of S&I with:
● Provide expert support guidance to all schools in the effective use of the student MIS, including
monitoring the S&I Zendesk.
● Collaborate with schools and Trust-wide networks as well as Heads of Service to review and improve the
use of the student MIS identifying opportunities for efficiency and implementing enhancements.
● Deliver engaging training to ensure staff effectively use the student MIS to enhance processes and
outcomes.
● Drive data quality and consistency projects, ensuring robust quality assurance to support school
improvement and enhance pupil outcomes.
● Develop user-friendly training guides and deliver expert training to help staff confidently use student MIS.
● Support schools in preparing accurate School Census submissions, ensuring compliance and maximising
opportunities.
● Work with the Systems and Integration team to monitor and solve queries
DIGITAL INNOVATION
The Digital and MIS Lead will support the Head of S&I with:
● Be an expert in, and champion the use of, Google, digital and AI tools across the Trust, driving innovation
and maximising their impact on education and operations.
● Lead the adoption of digital systems to empower schools and improve outcomes for all pupils.
● Deliver engaging training to ensure staff effectively use digital tools to enhance processes and outcomes.
● Stay ahead of digital trends and emerging technologies, ensuring the Trust’s systems remain innovative,
future-proof, and cutting-edge.
● Provide expert support for Google Workspace and other administration tools across the Trust and Shared
Services.
● Collaborate with schools and Trust-wide networks as well as Heads of Service to review and improve
digital systems, identifying opportunities for efficiency and implementing enhancements
● Drive data quality and consistency projects, ensuring robust quality assurance to support school
improvement and enhance pupil outcomes.
● Develop user-friendly training guides and deliver expert training to help staff confidently use digital tools.
COMMUNICATIONS
The Digital and MIS Lead will support the Head of S&I and the Head of Communications with:
● Maintain, further develop and improve the GLT intranet, enhancing user experience and staff
engagement.
● Support GLT’s digital learning platforms, including our ‘Always Learning’ community, to promote
collaboration and the ongoing professional development of staff across the MAT.
SYSTEMS & INTEGRATION
The Digital and MIS Lead will support the Head of S&I with:
● Provide support for the onboarding and integration of new schools as they join GLT, managing pupil data
migration and aligning digital systems.
● Develop user-friendly training guides and deliver expert training to help staff confidently use digital tools.
● Lead process improvement initiatives, streamlining administrative and operational tasks to free up
schools to focus on teaching and learning.
SAFEGUARDING
● Be keenly aware of the responsibility for safeguarding children and to help in the application of the
Safeguarding Policy within the school.
● Comply with the Trust’s Safeguarding Policy to ensure the welfare of children and young persons.

people therefore this appointment will be subject to vetting, including an enhanced DBS disclosure.
