Summary
Are you a Project Manager with experience of supporting the delivery of construction projects? Are you interested in working with the world's leading group of science museums?
About us
The Science Museum Group (SMG) operates one of the largest, most complex and iconic science-based estates in the world. We welcome over 5 million visitors a year, care for 7.3 million items in our collection, and we have an ambitious and exciting investment programme to transform our sites to enhance the visitor experience and ensure our collection is protected for generations to come.
Over the next couple of years, SMG will be making a significant investment in our capital infrastructure, thanks to funding received from government. This investment helps to make generational improvements to much loved public institutions.
As a result, we are recruiting into several Capital Project roles (Coordinator, Assistant Project Manager, Project Manager and Senior Project Manager) to help us deliver the work this funding allows us to undertake, at pace, across our various sites. We are recruiting permanent, and fixed-term roles, all full-time - 35 hours per week. Details below.
About the roles
We are keen to receive applications from anyone interested in theses vacancies:
- Senior Capital Projects Managers - London & Manchester
- Capital Projects Managers - London & York
- Assistant Capital Projects Managers - Manchester & York
- Capital Project Coordinator - London
Further information, including contract type and salary, can be found in the job descriptions, and How to Apply documents attached to this advert on our Careers Site.
About you
We are keen to hear from anyone who has experience of Capital Project work, with strong collaborative skills and a problem-solving approach.
Internally, we are keen to hear from any internal SMG colleagues who may feel like this is an interesting next step in their career. We can consider the fixed-term roles on a secondment basis.
Don't feel you meet all the criteria? We welcome you to apply even if your experience doesn't match directly. With your transferable skills, you could be the right candidate for this, or other opportunities that we have.
Applying
View the documents listed under 'Attachments' on the vacancy listing on our website for more details about the roles and the application process. You will need to upload a copy of your CV, and provide us with the information requested on the 'How to Apply' document.
Interviews
We will be interviewing candidates throughout May (and maybe June) for the variety of roles. Please let us know in your application if there are any dates when you would not be available to interview.
