A Vacancy at York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

We are looking to recruit two enthusiastic and self-motivated registered pharmacy technicians to join our friendly Pharmacy Education and Training Team.

We have two posts - 1 for our York site and 1 for our Scarborough site.

You must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be well organised and have the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Candidates must be committed to providing a high-quality level of training and education to new and existing staff, to ensure a patient focused service.

Full training will be provided, with key responsibilities gradually introduced as experience is gained. Accuracy checking accreditation is desirable but candidates without this will be enrolled onto an ACT course if successful at interview.

The role of the successful candidate will be varied and fulfilling, and includes:
• Completion of departmental inductions for new starters.
• Working closely with the Principal Pharmacy Technician to develop and enhance current training packages.
• Acting as an educational supervisor for assigned pre-registration pharmacy technicians.
• Delivering dispensing training to pharmacy staff.
• Supporting the completion of appraisals, sickness absence reporting and rota planning for allocated staff.
• Review and implementation of SOPs as required.
• Supporting the dispensary ACT rota on a weekly basis.
• Supporting MMT and dispensary services on an ad hoc basis to maintain competence.
• Supporting careers events for local schools and colleges and supporting work experience and university placements on site.

Candidates must be effective communicators, approachable and committed to supporting staff with their training; adapting to individuals needs and changing working demands.

Please note some occasional cross site working will be required for this role.

Our benefits

We offer a range of benefits to support our staff including:
• Access to the NHS Pension Scheme, providing generous benefits upon retirement, as well as a lump sum and pension for dependants
