Senior Accountant (Practice) | Ilford | Full Time – 9am – 5.30pm Monday to Friday | Office Based | Up to £40,000 per year for the right candidate
Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join their team. Based in Ilford, Essex, this accounting firm works closely with a diverse range of business and personal clients. The services they offer include:
• Accounts Preparation
• Corporation Tax
• VAT
• Audit
• Independent Examination
• Charity Accounts
Are you the right person for the job?
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a practice accounting role
• ACCA/ACA part qualified or fully qualified
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero, QuickBooks)
• Excellent communication skills
• Team player
• Strong IT skills
• Strong audit experience would be an advantage
• Can work under tight deadlines
What will your role look like?
• Provide a professional and technical service to clients in a cost-efficient manner
• Be courteous to clients at all times
• Manage client portfolio
• Report to Directors
• Meet deadlines (including government, client, and internal deadlines)
• Create a professional environment in the office
• Undertake work efficiently, based on time costing and final fee
• Identify reasons for variances
• Monitoring and encouraging the collection of fees
• Supervise and train junior staff and provide written appraisal monthly, and identify courses for improvement for junior staff
• Organise workshops and meetings for staff and clients for training purposes
• Expand your role in line with the firm's growth
• Maintaining continuous professional development through relevant courses and personal study/ research provided by the company
• Innovate and develop workflows to increase the competitive advantage of the firm
• Review reports weekly with the Directors
• Maintain a tidy and clean desk and office environment, adhering to company standards
• Review junior staff time sheet weekly
• Prepare time sheets weekly and submit weekly and submit them every Monday
• Handle ad-hoc assignments, including covering for team members as required
• Manage an expanding portfolio of clients professionally allocated to you
