Job Title: SHE Manager
Location: Palethorpes (Site-Based)
Salary: £50,000 – £55,000 + Car Allowance + Bonus
Hours: Full-Time, 40 hours per week
Contract Type: Permanent
Reporting To: Site Director
Role Overview:
We’re looking for a Site SHE Manager to join The Compleat Food Group and take a leading role in driving safety, health, and
environmental performance at our Palethorpes site.
As a key member of the Site Leadership Team, you will be the competent person for SHE, ensuring the site meets legal requirements,
implementing continuous improvement initiatives, and fostering a proactive safety culture that aligns with our business values.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and deliver the site’s SHE improvement plan.
* Monitor and report against the SHE balanced scorecard.
* Advise on site wide SHE risks and develop mitigation strategies.
* Ensure legal compliance with SHE legislation and company standards.
* Lead audits, emergency planning, and SHE reporting requirements.
* Develop training plans and ensure appropriate SHE capability on site.
* Manage relationships with external bodies and oversee statutory reporting.
* Support and implement group wide SHE initiatives and campaigns.
* Coach and guide SHE advisors/coordinators (where applicable).
* Promote sustainable, environmentally responsible operations.
What We’re Looking For:
* At least 5 years of SHE experience, ideally in a food manufacturing environment.
* Level 6 Health & Safety qualification (e.g., NEBOSH Diploma) – essential.
* Environmental qualification and knowledge of BS ISO 45001 – desirable.
* Leadership skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
* Strong analytical, numerical, and IT skills.
* Experience managing audits, training, risk assessments, and improvement plans.
* Driving licence required.
