Factory Manager (6 months FTC)
We are currently seeking an experienced Factory Manager to join our Operations team in Market Drayton on a 6-month fixed-term
contract.

creating delicious products for UK consumers, leading retailers and our exciting, market leading brands, which include Wright's
Pies, Wall’s Pastry, Squeaky Bean, Vadasz and Unearthed.
You will be responsible to effectively manage, lead and motivate the relevant factory at the Palethorpes site. Ensure KPI’s
relating to Safety, Quality, Performance and People are delivered within budgetary constraints and to identify opportunities and
deliver solutions for continuous business improvement.
Shifts: 4 on 4 off - 6am - 6pm & 6pm - 6am rotation
Contract duration: 6 months
Location: Market Drayton
Salary: £68,000 - £70,000 per annum
Key Duties, Responsibilities & Accountability:
Job Accountabilities:
* Ensure the delivery of the HS&E plan in area of control, in conjunction with the HS&E Manager, actively promoting a safety
culture, ensuring all HS&E requirements are met.
* Ensure high quality standards are maintained in area of control, in conjunction with Technical function, actively promoting a
quality culture, ensuring all quality requirements are metClean As You Go.
* Have a list of Standard operations to enable the department to be trained in Housekeeping controls.
* Ensure adequate resources are in place to provide the best possible service by planning and control.
* Lead the management and development of individuals and teams in area of control in order to deliver business objectives and
ensure sustainability of skills for the future.
* Ensure regular and effective communications in area of control and across functions. Support operational departments with
advice and information to maintain production flow through the business.
* Actively drive budget controls on Materials and Labour.
* Control of Absence
* To ensure correct and consistent application of company policies and procedures.
* To participate in the above at the appropriate level.
* Work closely with NPD to support the growth agenda
* Provision of capital expenditure plans.
* Ensure the department maintains a continuous improvement culture.
* Projects; carry out ad hoc projects as and when necessary.
Key Performance Indicators:
* Effective investigations carried out. H&S audits completed.
* Accident statistics improved.
* H & S plan targets achieved.
* Statutory Regulations met.
* To take the standards beyond the Legislative controls on such as Manual Handling.
* HSE KPIs achieved
* Control of procedures and specifications to be maintained.
* Quality KPIs achieved
* Investigations completed to timeframe
* Documents compliant with customer audit requirements
* Audits of areas carried out.
* Foreign body control measures.
* Food safety KPIs
* No shortfall in cover (skill and numbers).
* No issues with Response to production time.
* % Maintenance target achieved
* Identify gaps on skill.
* Skill maintenance plan
* PDRs completed and actioned to timeframe.
* Succession plans & actions in place
* Active participation in training activities.
* Promote T.P.M. culture within the business.
* Production targets met.
* Improve controls by engineering out problems and adjustments.
* Service level agreement in place for each internal customer.
* Team Briefings delivered to timeframe
* Maintain/improve upon standards in the budget.
* Defined profit improvement plan in place, actioned and targets achieved.
* Have visible, measured KPI displayed in the plant.
* Work to a target of 4% maximum within area of control.
* All absences reported to timeframe and consistent with procedure
* Ensure all RTW’s are completed to timeframe and actioned in line with procedure
* Procedures and policies consistently applied.
* No procedural appeals.
* Support NPD team in factory understanding.
* Ensure factory controls maintained
* Deliver expenditure proposals with complete Return On Investment breakdown.
* Meet all legislative requirements on plant control.
* Delivery of action plans to improve efficiency, quality and safety.
* Show cost reductions and improvements.
* Deliver in full on time and to budget.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
* Graduate calibre by education or experience
* Proven experience in an FMCG manufacturing environment with a strong emphasis on delivering results
* Credible leadership style with the ability to manage, inspire, coach and develop individuals and teams
* Drive and initiative to deliver results in a demanding environment
* Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills
* Proven Lean Manufacturing experience
* Computer literate
* Strategic and commercial acumen with the ability to turn plans into action and execution
