Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Education Lawyer at the PO5 level to join our dynamic legal team. This role will involve providing expert legal advice and representation in matters related to education law, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and regulations. The successful candidate will play a critical role in advising educational institutions, school boards, and other stakeholders on a variety of legal issues, including student rights, special education, and disciplinary actions. You will also be responsible for drafting and reviewing policies, contracts, and agreements to ensure that they meet legal standards and support the objectives of the educational institution. Collaborating with other departments, you will help navigate complex legal frameworks and advocate for the rights and best interests of students and educational staff alike. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to education equity and an understanding of the challenges faced by today's schools. Responsibilities
Provide legal advice and guidance on matters related to education law.
Represent educational institutions in administrative hearings and legal proceedings.
Draft, review, and revise policies, contracts, and agreements related to education.
Conduct legal research to stay informed about changes in education legislation and case law.
Advise on issues pertaining to student rights, special education, and disciplinary actions.
Collaborate with school administrators, educators, and staff to provide training on legal compliance.
Assist in the development and implementation of best practices for legal risk management in educational settings.
Requirements
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
Active membership in a state bar association.
At least 5 years of experience in education law or a related field.
Strong understanding of federal and state education laws and regulations.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and legal research skills.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration and advocacy.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Hours Per Week: 37.00
Start Time: 09:00
End Time: 17:00
Pay Per Hour: £21.45
