As a Lead Enterprise Architect at DVLA, you will be instrumental in helping to define and maintain the organisation’s enterprise architecture vision, strategy, and roadmaps; covering current, transitional, and future states. You will lead efforts across multiple architectural domains, ensuring alignment with DVLA’s objectives and fostering continual improvement.

In addition, there is an exciting opportunity to support a function that may require DV clearance. While this is not a mandatory requirement for the role, with your agreement, DVLA will apply for it on your behalf once you are in post, offering further scope for professional growth and influence.

  • Architectural Model: Maintaining the Enterprise Architecture model
  • Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement: Network and communicate with senior stakeholders, championing opportunities for innovation and improvement
  • Best Practices & Emerging Technologies: Identify and support the adoption of emerging technologies, driving digital capabilities and innovation across the organisation
  • Team Leadership: Lead, support, and mentor teams of architects, ensuring their objectives are aligned with organisational goals
  • Horizon Scanning: Identify external influences, risks, and industry trends that could impact or create opportunities for the organisation

Responsibilities

  • Network and communicate with senior stakeholders across enterprises, and seek opportunities for improvement
  • Support at least one community or team, or a combination of both
  • Find and use best practice and emerging technologies and approaches
  • Lead teams including enterprise architects and help them understand how to deliver the team’s objectives to meet organisational goals
  • Horizon scan for influences or risks
  • Support successful delivery of the long-term strategy
  • Take a leading role in the overall direction of business and digital capabilities
