Summary
Dani Evans is a 5* eventer who leads a brilliant team of enthusiastic, hard working and supportive staff some of which are also apprentices. They are a professional event yard with top class horses across all levels, fantastic facilities and training and coaching from Dani.
The position would suit someone who enjoys the sport of eventing and is looking to develop and work in this area. There is the opportunity to train alongside 5* event rider Dani with regular lessons/help and travelling to events/shows.
Duties to include;
general yard duties
mucking out
grooming and bathing
feeding and watering
turning out and bringing in
hacking and exercising the horses with more for the right person. You don’t need to have had grooming experience, however you must have good understanding and knowledge about competition horses.
Must be reliable, hard working and a friendly team member with a sense of humour! The job requires a good work ethic and trust, but rewarded to work with amazing horses and a top class supportive team .
Must be confident and capable of hacking fit event horses however, the position is open for a ridden or non ridden apprentice.
Training
Apprenticeship supported through Haddon Training
Qualifications required
GCSE English & Maths Level 4/Grade C or above, Functional skills L2 or equivalent qualification.Contact Haddon to discuss if you are not sure if you are eligible.
Skills required
Essential to have experience of handling competition horses.
Desirable that you are interested in eventing and looking to pursue this area.
Excellent team player that can work well with others
Communication skills
Take initiative to complete tasks in a a timely manner without being prompted
Prospects
Potential for progression to an advanced apprenticeship or a full time job.
Support in training for those with an interest in progressing in their eventing abilities. Opportunity to travel to national and international shows.
Qualification / Standard : ST0166 Equine groom
Duration 15 months
