Summary
We are looking to increase our Education Fellows to support Education forUndergraduates that are based within the Newham, Whipps Cross, St Bartholomew’s and Royal London Site. We are looking for trainees with an interest in Medical Education, particularly Undergraduate Education. These posts will be based at Whipps Cross Hospital, Newham Hospital, St Bartholomew’s Hospital and Royal London Hospital and although the post holders will be based at an allocated site, they would, in-line with all our team, be expected to work across site as requested. The contract is available for 12 months starting in August 2025.
Deliver support to one group problem-based learning facilitation for undergraduate medical students
Support teaching via on line modalities for undergraduates
Teaching on the clinical skills programme within QMUL as requested by Barts Health Trust for Year 3 medical students
Working with the Undergraduate Clinical Skills tutor to offer support in the delivery of the clinical skills programme and cover/support when needed
Support Hour on Call teaching sessions for year 5 medical students
Coordination of bedside teaching of students of other trainees delivering this
Support deliver of Year 5 Simulation Training days within Barts Health at the Royal London Site
Support preparation of final year student exams with medical education team in OSCE
Support and advise Consultants within the trust for Supervision of Special Study Modules for undergraduate medical students within the Education Academy
Support Medical Education Team with Year 3 and Year 5 Induction
Evaluation of teaching in conjunction with the relevant Medical Education administrator
Feedback to visiting external bodies such as Medical Schools, Foundation School, HEE and GMC Survey
Participation in a Trainee Medical Education Faculty, aimed at addressing the training needs of all students and trainees
Participation in the Medical Education and Undergraduate Committee meetings

The core remit will be to support different modalities in Education for the undergraduate trainees that are based at the respective site within the Medical Education/ Simulation Department. The successful applicant will also be expected to assist with a small element of Clinical Skills delivery within QMUL and support Simulation initiatives for other disciplines across Barts Health. A training programme is in place to develop the skills required to facilitate these courses and these posts are managed within the Simulation team.
