Crynodeb

The Nuclear Emergency Technician role is an exciting role, and its key responsibilities include:

Working in a small team to maintain all necessary monitoring equipment materials and facilities to support any routine or emergency deployment of the Nuclear Emergency Monitoring Team (NEMT), ensuring all remain in a state of readiness.

Supporting the wider NER 3 team in the training for NEMT Secondary Monitors to ensure teams remain in a state of readiness and that our arrangements are compliant with relevant legislation (such as REPPIR 19 and DSA 02 & DSA 03). Delivering briefings as required on NEMT equipment, instrumentation, procedures, and NERO facilities.

Ensuring that NEMT and Emergency Planning Department (EPD) Pool vehicles are always ready for routine or emergency deployments – including cleaning and valeting.

Supporting the delivery of nuclear demonstrations as a NERO player across HMNB Clyde and sponsored Operational Berths. Additionally assisting in the training of Nuclear Emergency Monitoring Organisation (NEMO) personnel at Clyde Sponsored Operational Berths, including British Overseas Territories.

Finally, the post requires the successful candidate to become a rostered NERO Monitor as part of the NEMT.

(Remote working within this role is something that can be discussed at interview stages or with your future line manager if you are found successful.)
