Overview and Responsibilities Housekeeper – Aurora Foxes Location: Minehead, Somerset Salary: £14,675.47 - £15,264.34 (FTE £26,436.80 - £27,467.60) Hours: 24 Hours per week – Term time only
Welcome to Aurora Foxes, a specialist college and training hotel for young people with learning disabilities, situated in the friendly seaside town of Minehead. Foxes is a very special place. Our aim is to equip our young adults with the life and hospitality skills to become work ready, life ready. The main purpose of the role: As our Housekeeper you will be responsible for the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation across all areas of Foxes Hotel, including guest rooms, public spaces, and laundry operations. You will contribute to a welcoming, safe, and inclusive environment for guests and learners by maintaining the appearance and functionality of hotel spaces, while being adaptable and ready to support student engagement where appropriate. Key duties: Maintain the cleanliness and order of all guest rooms and public areas, ensuring compliance with hygiene and health & safety standards. Ensure hotel laundry and student uniforms are cleaned to expected standards. That guest rooms are presented to the required level of comfort and standards in readiness for guests Ensure correct stock levels of cleaning materials are maintained and stored in accordance with health and safety procedures Work collaboratively with hotel and education staff to maintain high-quality service across departments. Prepare hotel spaces for special events, open days, and graduations to ensure a clean and welcoming environment Remain flexible to support other areas of the operation when required, in keeping with team-wide priorities.
Skills and Qualifications Successful candidate qualities: Proven experience in a housekeeping or cleaning role, preferably within hospitality or care. Ability to work independently and maintain consistently high standards. Personable and guest-focused with a can-do attitude. Strong organisational and time-management skills.
