We currently have a 12-month fixed term opportunity available for a Project Administrator in the Information Services team at Edinburgh Napier University. This role is ideal for someone with a passion for technology, a desire to help people and the willingness to play a hands-on, vital role in delivering change initiatives throughout the University. You’ll get the opportunity work alongside and learn from experienced staff as well as hands-on experience with the latest technologies.

As one of the largest professional services departments in the University, Information Services is responsible for the provision of technology, systems, and library services. Information services underpin all aspects of University operations and provide key enablers to deliver the ambitious University strategies for Learning & Teaching, Research & Innovation, and Internationalisation.

The Role

This is a hands-on role, providing administrative support for projects and workshops whilst working closely with experienced colleagues within a variety of teams to support and deliver change which creates sector leading solutions that make a difference to the University and beyond.

Using your excellent admin experience and knowledge of Microsoft Applications, you’ll play a crucial role in supporting the Project Services Team by getting involved in a variety of project tasks, including monitoring project budgets, reporting and accurate record keeping.

You will be in an excellent position to use your experience to provide a full administrative service to the team such as assistance in the co-ordination of a range of workshops, organisation of data (gathering and input), updating of critical project documentation with Business Change Consultants and helping populate collaboration tools within meetings.

Furthermore, you will be able to use your excellent interpersonal skills as the frontline-external facing contact person for the Project Service team, capturing information about enquiries in an efficient manner and passing it on to an appropriate member of the team.

What we’ll need from you

• HNC or equivalent or relevant and transferrable work experience
• Strong experience in general office administration
• Confident IT user, including Microsoft Office applications
• Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate confidently verbally and in writing
• Track record of supporting a team and ability to plan and prioritise workload
