- Lead the delivery of risk-based insight by analysing risk management plans and communicating findings to stakeholders, ensuring they are well-informed and can make effective decisions to reduce risk.
- Coordinate risk assurance activities, working closely with stakeholders to ensure that all information meets DWP standards and is aligned with business objectives.
- Support business partnering at the business level by maintaining regular contact with risk managers, providing appropriate challenges, and fostering a collaborative environment to address risk-related issues.
- Communicate the importance and benefits of risk management to all levels of the business, ensuring that risks are aligned with DWP tolerance and that risk management roles are clearly established.
- Build risk management capability within the team by contributing to the development and training of managers, enhancing their ability to identify and manage risks effectively.
- Manage and advise on the articulation of strategic risks, ensuring that they are clearly defined and aligned with business objectives and priorities, and that appropriate mitigation strategies are in place.
- Plan the delivery of the risk management framework by assessing its maturity across the business area, facilitating continuous improvement, and promoting a culture of proactive risk management.
- Provide comprehensive analysis of organisational risks, identifying cross-cutting themes and ensuring that senior leaders and those working within the Director General area are effectively informed and able to respond to emerging risks.
- Work towards achieving the Certified Risk Manager (CRM) designation.
