Crynodeb

This is a key role within the People Safety Team and involves working closely with the health and safety business partners (HSBP’s) and wider DWP health and safety community. You will be developing and implementing procedures, processes, and guidelines for quality, occupational health, and safety management systems. Within this, you will be a key figure in ensuring that the business is adhering to the OH&SMS standard ISO45001. You will be required to conduct internal audits on the businesses health and safety systems, produce reports identifying trends and provide areas for improvement. ​
  • Lead the delivery of risk-based insight by analysing risk management plans and communicating findings to stakeholders, ensuring they are well-informed and can make effective decisions to reduce risk.​
  • Coordinate risk assurance activities, working closely with stakeholders to ensure that all information meets DWP standards and is aligned with business objectives.​
  • Support business partnering at the business level by maintaining regular contact with risk managers, providing appropriate challenges, and fostering a collaborative environment to address risk-related issues.​
  • Communicate the importance and benefits of risk management to all levels of the business, ensuring that risks are aligned with DWP tolerance and that risk management roles are clearly established.​
  • Build risk management capability within the team by contributing to the development and training of managers, enhancing their ability to identify and manage risks effectively.​
  • Manage and advise on the articulation of strategic risks, ensuring that they are clearly defined and aligned with business objectives and priorities, and that appropriate mitigation strategies are in place.​
  • Plan the delivery of the risk management framework by assessing its maturity across the business area, facilitating continuous improvement, and promoting a culture of proactive risk management.​
  • Provide comprehensive analysis of organisational risks, identifying cross-cutting themes and ensuring that senior leaders and those working within the Director General area are effectively informed and able to respond to emerging risks.​
  • Work towards achieving the Certified Risk Manager (CRM) designation.​
