In accordance with the Equality Act 2010, due to a genuine occupational requirement, we are currently only accepting male applicants for this role.

The Wells Road Centre provides Low Secure Inpatient Services for adult men and women with mental illness and/or personality disorder, as well as services to adult men with intellectual disability.

The posts currently available are to work on wards for adult men only.

The role will include being part of a service users care team and being involved in regular meetings with the named nurse or MDT. You will work closely within a multidisciplinary team of doctors, nurses, healthcare support assistants, social workers, occupational therapists, psychologists, CBT and education to provide high quality patient centred care.



Assisting with all the activities of daily living, addressing the physical and mental health care needs of patients – promoting individual health and well being.

Undertake, record and report clinical observations as directed by the registered professional when required.

Assist in the treatment/activities for the patient within the in-patient

environment which may involve accompanying/escorting informal/formal patients outside the ward environment.

To maintain accurate, timely and relevant clinical records both written and computerised. To maintain the safe custody of healthcare records.

To treat the patients as individuals and enable them to achieve maximum independence

To undertake any other duties that would be a reasonable expectation of the role.

Please note that this post does not meet the pay level required for a Skilled worker visa.

Successful applicants with no prior NHS experience would normally be placed at the bottom of the band in line with Agenda for Change. This salary is below the minimum salary required for sponsorship for a Skilled Worker / Health & Care visa. In these circumstances the Trust would not, therefore, be able to sponsor for a Skilled Worker / Health & Care visa.
